Our SponsorOur featured presenter will be  Simon Gauvin of Agora Mobile who will present an overview of the recent software startup.

Agora Mobile is a social network based ecosystem for discovery, creation, distribution and sale of HTML5 mobile apps and app parts created by end-users. We have created a visual programming technology that enables anyone from end-users to Enterprise to quickly and easily build their own mobile web apps. These apps are created entirely in a SaaS all-HTML environment and conform to modern mobile browser standards enabling them to be cross platform to all smart phones supporting HTML5. Each app is deployed to the browser via a URL without the need of any downloads or an App Store.  The system, designed as a SaaS in the cloud to scale to millions of users, uses similar scaling technologies employed at Google and Facebook.

Agora Mobile is in private beta testing with partner Vodafone USA, several other small companies, educational institutions and government, and plans to make a public beta available in the fall of 2013.

A signup page is available at www.agoramobile.com to get access to the public beta.

The presentation will provide some history of the company, the system, and showcase the set of apps created in an appethon held earlier in the day with students from McKenzie College and local businesses.  A prize of a Samsung Galaxy 3 smartphone will be awarded for the best app.
